What a cookie is here

A short text file the site stores in your browser and that comes back with every request, so the site can remember something between one page and the next. On an ad-funded comparison site that something is usually who you are. Not here: there is no advertising, and the only cookie that identifies you is sesion, which exists only if you asked to follow prices and signed in with your link.

Cookies on the public site

mercado

• What it holds: the code of the price market you want to see (United States (USD), United Kingdom (GBP)). Nothing else.
• Who sets it: we do, from this same domain.
• When it is written: only when you press the market selector. If you never touch it, this cookie does not exist in your browser.
• How long: one year, or until you delete it.
• Attributes: SameSite=Lax, path /, readable by the browser. There is no need to shield it, because there is nothing inside worth shielding.
• If it is absent: the site shows you the prices of the country Cloudflare reports, and you can change that whenever you like.

comparar

• What it holds: the short addresses of the products you put in the comparison tray and their category. Three hundred characters at most, and nothing about you.
• When it is written: when you add a product to the tray.
• How long: as long as the browser window. Close it and the cookie is gone, because a comparison is a one-sitting thing. It used to last thirty days, and that turned the tray into a cupboard of forgotten items.
• Attributes: SameSite=Lax, path /, and Secure when the connection is https, which on the public domains is always.

The admin cookie

admin_sesion

• What it holds: an expiry stamp and a cryptographic signature. No user name, no password, nothing readable.
• Who sees it: only we do, when entering the panel where verdicts are signed. Browsing the public site never creates it.
• How long: twelve hours.
• Attributes: HttpOnly (no script can read it), SameSite=Lax and Secure in production.

The cookie for following prices

sesion

• What it holds: your account number, its expiry and a cryptographic signature. Nothing else: not your email address and not what you follow.
• When it is written: only when you sign in with the link we email you. If you never ask to follow a price, this cookie does not exist in your browser.
• How long: ninety days from your last visit. It is renewed as you use it, at most once a day.
• Attributes: HttpOnly, SameSite=Lax and Secure.
• Without it: you see the site the same, without your panel. What you follow stays saved and you sign in again with a new link.

Cloudflare

The site reaches the internet through Cloudflare, acting as a delivery network and as protection against abuse. If a cookie set by Cloudflare shows up during your visit, it is a technical security cookie of theirs, not ours, and it is not used for advertising. You can see it in your browser alongside the rest.

Why there is no consent window

• A cookie window exists to ask permission for what is not necessary: third-party measurement, advertising, profiles. None of that is here.
• The public cookies are either strictly necessary to provide what you asked for, or written by you through a deliberate action: choosing a market, adding a product to the tray, signing in with your link to follow prices. That is the exemption the electronic communications rules themselves recognise, and it is why we do not interrupt you with a window.
• It is also why the code changed: the market cookie used to be written on every visit and now it is written only when you press the selector. The policy was not bent to fit the code; the code was changed to fit what we wanted to be able to say.
• The day a cookie arrives that does not meet these conditions, the window appears before that cookie is written, not after.

How to delete or block them

• In your browser, under site data, you can delete or block them for this domain. A private window works too, since it discards them on close.
• Delete mercado and the site goes back to choosing by country. Delete comparar and the tray is empty. Delete sesion and you are signed out of your panel, while what you follow stays saved. Nothing else is lost: there is no browsing history and nothing of yours stored behind a cookie.

What is not here

• No Google Analytics and no other third-party measurement.
• No Meta, TikTok or other social network pixels.
• No advertising, personalisation or profiling cookies.
• No affiliate cookie in your browser. The click is recorded on our server and the identifier travels inside the address we send you to, not on your machine.
